What if you manually change the coding? Using the long code helper change the car type on byte 0 first to Passat. Write the coding. Then byte 01 change the rear axle to 4WD variant and write the code. And after those are done, change the sensor bit.

Please be minded that there is still the question of byte18. I know a car that has this unmasked from MY2011, I know MY14 is 4B, but I don't have scan from this. I will ask the owner though.

Please also check the level sensor You have fault code for. This most likely is internally broken.
Autoleveling may be smart enough to use other sensors, but it should be fixed, even for DCC comfort.

But wouldnt it be cheaper to just get the same AFS module from another Passat, rather than pay lets say 1-2 hour labor at dealer to run replacement on module?
I got the Tiguan module for 80$..
1 hour labor is like 120$ here..

But i got front left/right sidelight malfunction, and also i dont get only DRL at auto position in broad sunlight, the xenons lights up as well.

Any idea why the leds dont work alone at auto in daylight??
And also what is sidelight? Parking lights?? And why error?

I think Golfi_vend explained it already. As your unit is from Touran or Tiguan and not Passat. You are not able to code it correctly. That also means that the sub modules in the lights are not coded correctly as Tiguan/Touran uses different sub modules than Passat.

The headlight module expects different sub modules than what you have.

The headlight module expects these. Nothing works correctly if it cannot code the AFS modules on the lamps correctly.

I had same issue in our earlier car, Golf Plus bixenon AFS retrofit. I accidentally bought Tiguan’s sub modules which were almost the same but still different. Same range module was used for Plus and Tiguan but Plus’ lights didn’t work correctly.

After swapping to correct modules, bang everything worked that instant.

Yeah that i understand, but ive seen several others using modules from golf and tiguan, and they have found a way around not being able to code it, with flashing the AFS with VCP(??)

And since i dont know what that means and how to, i have to ask a few dumb questions

Could anyone guide me as to how i can flash it? Since its the correct module, just with wrong coding...

VCDS cannot flash firmware.

The module has the wrong firmware, which means it will not accept the coding needed for a Passat.

Hi!

Ive now installed a new AFS module with Passat variant 365 firmware. I can now change coding to what I need.

I now got DTC on missing calibration/basic settings.

But im not able to do basic settings.
I press «Go!» and it just says «Running» like forever..

According to rosstech «manual», im supposes to choose group 001, the press go, and then scroll up to group 002??

There is no place i can choose 001 or scroll to 002.
Theres only one place where it says 00, and i can enter 001 and press go, but no difference..

Any help please?

okay, so i just pressed "done, go back" even if the basic settings didnt seem to do anything, and then went in again and checked codes, and they are now gone.. but i do not now if everything is as should be!

So here comes second question, i got DTC on left/right parking light, and ive double checked every byte on 09 centr.el..
cant get rid of it..

Yes, that’s exactly how you do it. When you press GO it sets the lights to adjustment position, you adjust them and then press stop. After that it stores the setting and the missing calibration error is gone.

For the light error, probably byte 18 needs now a proper value

Hm, i found a bit called «DRL as position light active.
I checked that bit, and no difference..
Its literally what I have/need.
So strange it didnt change anything..
Do you have any tips for byte 18?
Since its masked i really dont know..

Also, how do i confirm i have static bixenons with shutters, or bending/dynamic bixenons?
Cause i suddenly got a new menu in MDF called AFS / corneringslights on/off..?

When starting my car, the lights goes down, then move side to side, then come back up.

Do i then have dynamic/turning bixenon lenses??

The reason Your module doesn't accept is because Tiguan and Passat have same module yes, but different index code. I think best Way for You to achive Your goal is let Dealer install this module in another passat with similar equipment and run replacement procedure. This will also upload correct dataset.

So changed AFS module to correct firmware for Passat, coding works now, seems like auto leveling also works(lights turn down and side to side, then up again when starting car)

But i get left/right parking light fault, and ive looked at and tried a few bits in 09, but cant get the dtc away..

In light switch position auto OR low beam, i get xenons + LED DRL.
In light switch position «parking light», i get LED DRLs at same high brightness as u nornally see during daytime.
This cant be right?
Also, shouldnt ONLY led DRLs light up at auto, during daylight? (They do not now)

Also, how do i know if my lights are bending xenon lights, not just static lights?

In MDF i have a new menu called «bending lights» or something, but lights do not bend when driving even when its activated in MDF.
And i dont seem to understand why..

Just what i thought the lights should behave, but they dont..
I got full brightness on the LEDs no matter what position, and in zero position all lights go out..
Thats probably why I have parking lights DTC.

Do you have any clue what byte i have to change?
Do you think byte 18?
Cause i havent changed anything there yet, because of all the warnings ive read..

No, at night time my lights do not turn at the direction of the wheels like my Golf mk6 does..

If someone actually knew id be highly appreciated!

The code for 55 headlight range I got from the guy above did not do any wonders, plus it threw DTC on AFS..
Also the code I got for 09 module did not work.. there were multiple errors with that code.

Right now I only have dtc for parking lights.

So i changed everything back to what i have on my latest scan.

So in other words, my parking lights not working is probably due to byte 18 coding?

Cause my DTC is open curcuit, but my leds do light up with switch in parking lights position, only they are too bright..

Any idea about xenons not turning with wheels like my golf does?
Is that 09 coding or is it module 55?

I tried almost every bit in 55, several called bending lights active etc, but none of them made any difference..

Try to get the byte 18 correct first.

The light switch needs to be in auto position, lights are static if you turn the switch to lights on position.

And you have bending lights as the the headlights do the sideways dance on the start.

Other thing. In your DCC module you have an error about front height sensor. That might also make the lights not move as the dcc module is providing the height info to module 55
