No oil temp in MFD Golf MK7 R

Hi Guys,

I own a Golf 7R my 2015 and am unable to display the oil temperature in the MFD display.
Before this I had an Mk6 GTI and it worked properly.

What I did to try to get it working:
- VCDS oil sensor installed (already checked)
- Read oil temp in VCDS: via the engine adv measuring values I get a temperature of the oil neatly at location IDE00196 (20 degrees C, engine was just on, but you saw temp. Rising)

Via channel 17-Instruments I can also read location IDE00196, but on this I get a fixed value of 197 degrees C

I think that it is the same sensor; since they are in the same location, the instrument computer does not get the same (or any) value from the engine computer.

Oil temperature is also not available in the MFD settings; only when I reset everything to factory settings do I get the oil temperature in the menu; but keep displaying "---" no matter how long I drive. After switching off and restarting the car, the temperature is also gone and I cannot turn it on in the settings.

So something is not going well, but I have no idea where to look for it. Someone who has experience with this?

So let's have a look at your car with an autoscan (see below) and perhaps also a controller adaptation map of 17?

That's a 4 year old version of VCDS, definitely worth updating it to the latest (currently 20.4.1) which can be downloaded from here https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/current.php
