No, just standard, push key in, clutch down.
I purchased the v2 cable last month, so got a phone call asking if its possible, but im not sure, so thought I'd ask.... Good to know for future reference.

No, it can not , on that car remote gets programed at same time when key is programed and VCDS can not program key on this car .
Most likely you have bed remote side of the key , it happens time to time.
