Newbie: SRI Reset

Hey All.
So far i have just used my VCDS to read error codes on the car - which is just the once.

It is now time to reset a service light. The last Full service i did was back in June 2019, ifi recall, they did reset the servie light. Which has come on again.

So, how do i find out why?
Also how do tell if my car is on flexible or fixed service?
Finally, do the results below look okay?

Craze: hmmm...... that's a unique and an very interesting way to introduce the vehicle for your question. Notwithstanding my assumption that you want to not disclose the VIN, please include a full (meaning, unedited) current auto-scan from the car - so we can see a total list of the equipment installed as context for the CAN Gateway module (the VIN can be blanked on your scan report before posting -if you want)

That's better than nothing, but it's certainly not ideal. Please don't use the [Print] function in VCDS to post data here. Please just post the native text VCDS produces. You can grab it from your Scans sub-folder.

Based on "Oil Quality" being set to 1, it appears your car is set to Fixed intervals. But the rest of the values don't match that; for example both Minimum and Maximum Distance to Service are set to 30,000 km, which strikes me as implausibly long for fixed intervals. 30,000 km is the maximum allowed on flexible intervals, but even then the minimum should should 15,000.

How long have you owned this car? It seems someone has buggered up these settings, as well as the coding. Byte 9 of the cluster's coding indicates it's set to "Germany (D) / Left-Hand-Drive (LHD) OR Not Specified". That doesn't seem correct. Is this really a LHD car? Because some of the other coding bits seem to show it set up for the UK.

Also, is below the ideal of what you need - or is there something else? - I appreciate your assistance, so would like to make it as easy as possible for you.

I have had the car just coming up to 1 year from Last April. January was the first time I looked into scanning the codes after it got a Fault (on the EGR valve if I recall).
The car is certainly a UK spec right-hand drive Auto.

How do I correct the coding info?

OK, I located two other scans of cars with the exact same Instrument Cluster. Both seem to be UK cars, and both have the same 00 value in Byte 9. So it's possible that the documentation we have for that byte is no applicable to this particular cluster, and I'm going to recommend against messing with it.

Now regarding the Service Reminder, here's what I would do if this car were mine: Wait 5,000 more km, because then it's due for an oil change anyway. Once that has been done, I would do the following:

[SRI Reset]
Wait for VCDS to read the channels again.
From the Operation drop-down, choose "Change to fixed Intervals (Rest of World)" (*)
[Perform SRI]
Wait for VCDS to modify the channels.
[Done, Go Back]

Cycle the ignition.

[SRI Reset]
Wait for VCDS to read the channels again.
From the Operation drop-down, choose "Fixed Oil Service Reset (Rest of World)"
[Perform SRI]
Wait for VCDS to modify the channels.
[Done, Go Back]

(*) I would not use "Change to fixed Intervals (Great Britain)" because that assumes the values are in miles and yours aren't.

You shouldn't need any paperwork. There should be a "short" serial number that starts with HC7 and is followed by five more numbers on the interface itself. That and the "long" serial number from the About screen in VCDS (plus your contact info) are all that's required.
