2003 Passat 1.8t. Is there a way to stop the ECU from having communication with the 2ndary air pump? Have replaced the pump and just keep getting fault codes.

No, you can't change its fault detection logic.

Have you been here?
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...5/P0411/001041

There are a fair number of other things that can cause this fault besides a bad pump.

-Uwe-

See what deletes in the industry are causing as a sentiment as being an everyday normalcy?

OP

Can you clear all faults and re-post a new scan after the car idling for 1 minute please?

Have you tried observation of the combi and vacuum lines to it or if the car has a notorious pervasive vacuum leak at L hose to booster?

Is car modified with FOD programming?

Start the engine, let idle for 10 seconds, shut engine off. Turn ignition on, do not start engine. Connect to the ECM and do the Output Test... one of those test will be for the relay (J299) that in turn runs the pump. You should hear the pump pulsing on and off when this test is running. If so, great. If not... relay or S130 fuse issue?

If the pump is running, then I'd check the vacuum line at the kombi valve, they are prone to splitting apart, so the kombi valve doesn't get enough vacuum to open it up, thus low air flow (incorrect flow).
