[Options] -> [Config] would update your interface firmware, not the VCDS software itself.

You can update VCDS itself by clicking on the User Interface and Identification tab on the Options screen, where you will find a [Check for Updates now] button, or you can do it manually from this page.

There should be no need to re-register anything.

    Is there any change log?
On the website the last change log was 30 September 2018.
What is happening with this equipment?
The output test doesn't work at MQB cars.
If I install a new Rear View Camear the VCDS can't write the long code (error 22).
The VCDS can't do RVC calibration and a lot of other thinks.
This interface was good ten years ago but now...

There is, but it is not published at this point, because every damn clone-seller copies and pastes it.

If you have a problem with something on a particular car, please start a thread about that problem and include an Auto-Scan. Generic "it doesn't work" comments are not helpful.

I'll ask differently: is there anything new/cool/fancy/useful/interesting for those nerd powerusers that switch on the ignition before their coffee machine?

can we (the registered and confirmed users) get it by mail or something?

i really hate updating software without knowing what is the changelog, and this has been practice for VCDS some time now...
