Ok a real long shot here so here goes, I've swapped a mk6 GTI TSI engine and the matching abs pump / wheel sensors to an older vehicle.
Everything is running and ABS working.
Esp / asr does not work due to missing modules / steering rack not able to be fitted.

My question is can these related error codes be coded out of the module so that we can have a functioning abs light.
Currently the abs system works but the light is on due to esp / asr / G85 missing.

It might be useful if you'd post an Auto-Scan so people could see exactly how this car is currently equipped and configured, and what faults it has, but...

As a general rule, you cannot "code out" fault codes.

I get an autoscan up when im next near the car.
Thinking about it from another angle are there any MK5 based vehicled manufactured without ESP?
Can't say Ive ever seen a MK5 Golf without it but a Caddy perhaps?
I could then possibly just switch out the ABS module to only have ABS and a working warning lamp.

I would expect some MK5 Golfs to have ABS/ASR only rather than full blown ESP.
Absolutely true. We had a 2007 Golf for quite a few years that had:

Code:
Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 1K0-907-379-MK70.lbl
   Part No: 1K0 907 379 P
   Component: ASR FRONT MK70 0105
   Coding: 0017025
   Shop #: WSC 01279 785 00200

I do not think this car had a steering angle sensor either, at least not one that that ABS was aware of.
