Have i damaged the Cover for the oil filter housing? - YES, I did...

Hi there...

Performed an oil change yesterday and also replaced the oil filter of course.
After this job the oil is pouring out from the housing. It looks like it is from top of the housing, between the housing and the threaded cover.
When I installed the cover I used more than 25nm by a mistake. I opened the cover and did it over again with the correct torque 25nm.
The O-rings was also replaced correctly. Verified twice.

Could I have damaged the cover so I should be replaced or should I check something else first?
The housing seems to be a bit oval (on the top in picture) ...

... most likely... I had this long time ago after the car was serviced... changed o-rings but didn't help... did need a new cover to fix the leak!

I never torque oil filters / housing covers, always hand tight. never had a problem so far.

actually the one time I tried the suggested torque value for the oil sump plug (on a previous car), I ended up stripping the thread and... that was a problem.

New part has been ordered from the dealer. Hopefully I will get it today.

The picture should now be visible again. At first I used a "google disk" link, but that only worked for 24 hours or so...

... when I had the oil leak, the edge of the cover was "deformed" and looked "curled up"... Took some time before I noticed the leak... oil was dripping on the protecting cover at the bottom, then on the floor... Like I posted ealier... a new cover fixed my problem (no thanks to the dealer because the only changed O-ring to solve the leaking).

Edit: took me some time to find the photos I made...

New cover mounted and everything is ok now.
The new cover was not oval, so me over-torquing the old cover just cost me 50EUR... When shall I ever learn?

Thanks for helping me out.
