possibilitys of coding mk5 gti ECU work with audi a3 8p

I have a audi a3 8p that originally came with AXX engine iv replaced engine with BWA engine (from mk5 gti) but still using AXX ECU and getting misfire only on idle, no codes. So I was planning on replacing ECU with the one that came with the BWA engine. Is it possible to code the ECU (BWA engine mk5 gti) to go in my audi a3 8p? And if so how do I do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It would help to see scan data from both ECUs. I do not know off the top of my head what the differences between those two ECUs is, nor whether they are Immo4a or Immo4c, and so on.

I suspect both are 4C, but we'd need scans. The 8P will be 4C (I've never seen one that wasn't), the Golf most likely is - I think there was a VERY short production period that the BWA was used with 4A.

Generally, in this platform, a VW ECU is not going to work in an Audi car without some work anyway - They specifically tried to prevent this on the MK5 platform. It may be possible though. Or it may take some specialist tools.

Either way, you won't be matching the immo with VCDS - it may require one or several other tools, that I don't own or have experience with.

Another option is to make the car think it IS the Golf, swapping cluster, ABS, ECU, etc.
