Hello. And Forgive me if this is somewhere else. I did some searches and found alot of threads on this but none of them seem to have actual specific solutions just stuff like the key wasn't on or the cable wasn't hooked up right or something.
I've got an 05 Phaeton w12. I bought this vcds from Ross directly. I'm very unfamiliar with the VW way. I am very familiar with Chrysler and GM diag tools, this is my first VAG vehicle.
The whole VW module thing, seems, a bit whacky to me. But..just not used to how they organize their vehicle diagnostics...yet.
Basically, I hook up, batteries are good (I just replaced them a few days ago), 13.6v...........options test says everything good and ok, 1 vin used out of 3. I can open individual module controllers and get various group data etc. I can do all the OBII functions.
I cannot run an autoscan.
For starters, the Phaeton (3D) is not listed in the drop down of pre-defined vehicles, does that need to be there? If it's not there am I supposed to create a file for it???? If so how do I do that? Is autoscan just not possible on Phaeton? I have to do all the individual controllers? I'm pretty autoscan is possible as I've seen others posted from Phaetons and even from my very car, from 2008.
If I just hit start, it comes back fairly quickly with Function not supported by gateway.
Again, I'm very new to VAG vehicles and VCDS, so it's likely (hopeful) i'm just doing something wrong. I've read the manual it's possible I missed pertinent info, but as of now I'm not see a way through to get around my issue.

There's some threads seemingly indicating Ross would like some feedback in the form of this is what my modules my vehicle has or some kind of file they'd like to get back to help other owners of the same vehicle line. I'm happy to provide that if I can figure out how!
