Yes, original code have on BYTE 4 binary code 01010100 and on the BYTE 17 is binary code 00101010 !!!
But I don't tried to change directly the binary codes in each Byte separately (04 and 17) !!!
I have modification directly in LONGCODING !!!

Sorry, now I don't follow?

Did you change both at the same time and then tried to write the coding to the ABS? You can do the modification directly to long coding. No need to change the binary codes. Hex values work fine.

But I tried to make the change separately Byte 4 firs and after Byte 17 !!
But didn't work !!

Yes, separate change does not work. You need to do them at the same time and then write the new coding. They have to match.

So did it go if you changed them at the same time?

Do you mean the coding change wasn't accepted, or that it was accepted but made no difference?

D4 as brake type is not accepted by your ABS unit then. It might be undoable to code your current ABS unit to support the RS3 brakes. I know it's not something you would like to hear but it seems so.

I suspected this thing .
But now I'm interested if anybody maked the change of ABS unit on MQB platform with an RS3 ABS unit ?

Good question. There's a difference in many of the other modules as well in A3 platform vs. Golf/Passat etc. So it might be that changing ABS will cause a plethora of changes needed to other modules as well.

So it's been a while now that I have retrofitted TTRS/Cupra Performance Pack Brembos 370x32mm on my Leon Cupra 5F. This is a factory option for this model it seems to be working great but I was just wondering if I should make any ABS coding changes in order to get the most out of them. I've also downloaded the excel file (great stuff!) with the ABS coding and will give it a look.

My ABS module is a 5Q0.

Answering to myself...I found out that according to the excel the 370mm brakes should be coded like this:

Byte4 Front Brake - Mirrored in Byte 17
14 270mm
20 288mm (PR. 1ZE)
24 288mm (PR. 1LM, 1ZE)
31 312mm (PR. 1ZK)
34 312mm (PR. 1LV, 1ZA, 1ZD)
50 (PR. 1LM)
54 340mm (PR. 1LA, 1LJ)
80 (PR. 1LI)
84 (PR. 1LI)
C4 370mm (PR. 1ZT)

Mine was fitted with the 340mm brakes from the factory so Byte4 is coded 54.

I tried to code it to C4 but I get "out of range" message. What I don't really understand is that Byte4 is mirrored in Byte17. Does this mean that I should also code Byte17 to C4? Cause I also tried it with no results.

Is there any chance my ABS unit is not actually compatible with the bigger brakes? I highly doubt that...

It means you need to change both bytes and then press coding. Mirror byte means if you’re byte 4 is for example 00010001 in bits, byte 17 needs to be reversed from that 10001000.
There are few bytes in the abs coding like that.

So change both byte4 and 17 respectively and only after you’ve changed both values then write the coding.

The out of range error is because you did not change the byte 17

You were right once again!

What I was trying was to code just the 2 letters in the Bytes and not the binary code and I was putting C4 in both bytes 4 & 17. Seems I'm newbie ever after 3+ years of using VCDS.

So I'm writing it down in case anyone is in need:

PR-1LA, 1LJ (340mm) coding:

20EE6B925423216F877A060860C96904D62A84E160069677204250F5C206430100000012121212B835351919323200

PR-1ZT (370mm) coding:

20EE6B92C423216F877A060860C96904D62384E160069677204250F5C206430100000012121212B835351919323200

Car is a MY19 Leon Cupra.

Hy Stefan,

Tell me WHY YOUR ABS LONG CODING is so long ???
On my Passat B8 the LONG CODING have 29 Byte, and you posted a LONG CODING with 42 Byte (if is correct the fact that I stopped before 19323200) !!!
Or I read too many Bytes ???

Thanks.

Newer ABS module. They are 42byte long. The rest of the bytes from 29 onwards have not been deciphered yet.

Ok, I understood .

Now I need to try to code mine ABS module from:
Coding 0EEC6B8F54200B6C0779070941CA6970D62AD0E0E08296F5B86250F8CAA9
to
Coding 0EEC6B8FC4200B6C0779070941CA6970D623D0E0E08296F5B86250F8CAA9

Yes, the bytes till 29 are the same in both ABS units. So changing that coding should be ok in your case as well.
