I am a long time time user; first time poster.
I have a 3.6L BLV that lost a timing chain at 113k miles. I found 2 bent intake valves and 4 bent exhaust valves.
I decided to purchase a used engine for replacement.
I now have 5,000 miles on engine since installing, but the lifters are sometimes noisy at idle.
In general, there is no noise upon starting, but once the engine is warm the lifters are ticking.
It also seems that the noise is more pronounced when the ambient temperature is cold, but I am not confident about this as it is still winter in Northern Maine and thus still waiting for warmer weather to test that theory.
Just barely pressing the gas pedal and lifting the idle speed, the ticking will go away. I have done multiple oil changes, but the ticking is still there.
So I decided to see if bumping up the idle speed would help keep the ticking at bay.
Unfortunately, I need a security access code for the engine module.
Is there anyone that can provide this? Or is this not an option with the BLV engine?
