Working on son's 01' VR6 GTI AFP engine w/ 5spd. Fans stay on ten minutes after ignition is turned off, and turns on before engine turns on (key on, engine off). New radiator, Thermoswitch (in radiator), thermostat and housing, fan control module, A/C compressor, drier. The A/C is not currently charged. Issues have existed for some time, long before above went bad. Thermostat housing busted replaced that and thermostat. When replacing oil pressure sensor in oil filter housing I busted radiator when putting everything back and replaced it and rest of items.
Found a leak coming from auxiliary water pump. Ordered an will replace after business trip.
Thoughts? Discussed this in my other post and Jack has offered suggestions.
