    RS5 Spoiler

    Hi,

I'm about to install the RS5 electrical spoiler on my S5. Most of it is pretty clear and understandable. I'm just confused over some things in the Wiring Diagram.
There are a couple of connection that I need help with.
B528 Connection 1 (LIN BUS) in main wiring harness; B473 Connection 9 in main wiring harness and B490 Connection 26 in main wiring harness.
What am I looking for exactly? Do they look like earth points or do I just have to open up the main harness and splice into the wires?

And thank you Ross Tech for the videos about learning how to read the wiring diagrams.

that's correct, you splice into the wire, anywhere you find it / anywhere convenient.

How do I identify the B528, B473 & B490 wires in the main wiring harness? There is no legend for them to tell color coding or anything like that.

Look at the wiring diagrams you have posted, what color wires are shown on them?

Yes I see those colors but I might be misunderstanding something. For example the first drawing, the wire going from J223 to J393 on the way it has to be spliced into B528 (LIN bus). As I understand I have to find the LIN bus wire and I suppose that is a different color coding than the wire from J224 to J393. I'm confused on how to locate the B528 in the wiring harness.

B528 is already a splice point, means that the wire can go somewhere else, means that you'd probably find B528 on another page of the wiring diagram.

just find the wire and splice anywhere along its lenght. you know where it starts from and where it goes to, it's easy to splice close to control units.

Okay. Thank you. I guess I will have a better picture once I actually start wiring.
