Firstly apologies as i am new here. Had VCDS a while but this has finally got me scratching my head so in need of assistance.
The car is a UK registered 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS 230 (MY2017). I recently discovered that the previous owner had removed the drivers seat memory buttons ( i suspect they were damaged and the car was returned on lease) and fitted a blank panel to hide the hole and avoid any charges. erWin stated it as factory fit, and reviewing old brochures confirmed this.
On investigation the wiring was found and a new memory button purchased and fitted. VCDS talks to the module however it is stating invalid data and although completes the basic setting calibration, all sensors report a loss of basic settings. Looking at the coding it appears to be confused and stated it being LHD when its actually RHD. Also it stated memory was saved through the keys. This would explain the Seat menu in the infotainment which mentioned personalised key settings and a tick option, however this did not allow you to select it. This vehicle is not equipped with Kessy, and as far as i'm aware this was the system that the seat memory saved to when using the key memory.
My understanding is that the module code or software is all out of shape for whatever reason. A bit of research would appear this isn't uncommon with owners returning the car to dealers for re-installation of software. This car is out of warranty so if you guys/gals and VCDS can help that would be fantastic!
