Hi All,
Trying to sort a problem with my 2009 Caddy 2.0 sdi.
It starts fine and runs smoothly, but has no power; going up any hills it steadily loses speed - long or steep hills end up crawling up to the top in 1st gear @ 15 mph.
The vehicle is completely standard, no modifications.

Thus far I have replaced:
MAF sensor - no change
Intake temp/pressure sensor - no effect (ELSAWin says the sensor on the intake manifold is a temp sensor, Bosch automotive website says it is a pressure sensor - ?) VCDS reports the intake air temp as 23 deg when the ambient temp is 5 deg. After replacing it now says 13 deg but no change to engine performance.
rebuilt tandem pump - no change (had a slight weep/leak)
replaced fuel filter & supply pump - no effect

Scratching my head as to what to look at next, any help / advice muchly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

I'm not terribly familiar with that engine, but I may suggest the following:

1) Let it assume ambient temperature (for example overnight). Then run a Measuring Value Map (without starting it!).

2) Drive it, get it up to full temperature, then run another Measuring value map with it idling.

Post both maps here. It's possible someone will spot something out-of-kilter with it.

The only things that jump out at me are those -40.5°C temps. That should be the radiator outlet temperature. Normally something like -40.5°C would be indicative of a failed sensor or open circuit, and I'd expect the ECU to throw a fault code about it. So it may not have such a sensor. But if it doesn't have sucn a sensor, I'd not expect it to show anything in that field at all... :confused:

I think you're right, there don't appear to be any sensors on the radiator.
Even so, I wouldn't have thought that coolant temperature would affect fuel metering.

You may not have driven anything with a manual choke which you had to juggle as the engine temperature went up, but you should have noticed the higher idle speed when starting from cold on an injected car.
In short engine temperature has a massive influence on fueling.

Hi SoapDodger, just read your post from way back but sad to see (or not to see) what your solution was. I have exactly the same problem with no power for hills etc. Been over everything you did including replacement intercooler (holed) and rectified all other boost leaks. Bought VCDS but of course thats only half the story! Swapped MAF and MAP sensors for known good ones. checked the vac unit on the turbo etc. etc. I am now trying to analyse and eliminate apparent anomolies in the measured value maps. One I have hit on is the inlet air flap. The spec reads 95.9% but the corresponding actual is only reading 4%. Looking at your maps the actual seems to follow the specified. (groups 41 field 1 and 42 field 3). Can you confirm that is the case for your vehicle. I guess you have the BLS engine as well. Hopefully you still have the car!!! cheers.

Is car making boost request if turbo charged?

Is fuse blown?

Is intake or exhaust restricted?

Is fuel system with aeration?

Is car in proper time, including valve timing or lifters damaged or helical PD ramps of cam?

Is TV working proper?

Are brakes self applying by vacuum pump pulling down or overcoming the brake booster servo?
