BSD you can retrofit freely, no matter the ABS.

What do you mean? Cross traffic alert needs support from ABS pump to function correctly. You won’t get the autobrake functionality if ABS does not support it.

Downtime is correct, BSD won’t work without changing the ABS pump. Also steering vibration won’t work. Changing the ABS pump was easier than I thought, however fitting BSD is a real pain. It’s a full strip down of the mirrors, adding extra plugs and wiring into the door looms. It took me 2 full days.

Ok, what I’d read was needed to be H71 0775 or greater, my pump is H75 but I wasn’t sure how the version numbering worked

I’d imagine that Blind spot detection and. CRoss traffic alert are seperate things?

Nope, they come in the same package. If you don’t have a pump that supports RCTA it will disable blind spot warning everytime you put the car in reverse.

But if your current pump supports ACC I would imagine it supports BSD and RCTA as well

No they’re al part of the same install. The rear sensors behind the bumper do both.

Ok, I have factory ACC, and below is my ABS details. However, car is a 2013 and only 29 byte unit. I don't think I could swing an ABS pump change past the wife (it's her car!) but the rest I could get thru :)

I don’t think it will work properly for all functions but you can give it a go. ABS modules are not expensive

Order one from the UK!

My vote for this one as well. My 3Q0 907 379 AB pump came from a breaker in UK. Very good price and prompt delivery.

If you want your pump to support everything, I would propose that 3Q0 AB pump. And it is 100% compatible with your model year Golf.

Right, update time!
Recalibrated with the static calibration within 1deg in all directions (initial calibration pitch was at 4.5, only just within tolerance) and now all is working well - traffic sign recognition, high beam assist and lane keeping. I will post a new autoscan soon.
A couple of questions,
1. Is it possible to remove the audible ‘ding’ for the ‘Traffic sign recognition restricted’ message? (I know why this is, just want to remove the audible alert)
2. Is it possible to reduce the lower limit for the Lane assist? Seems like it only works above 60km/h. Or if it works lower is that part of the TJA?

Cheers for all the help

Not possible I'm afraid. It's always with a ding :(

This is only with TJA and even then only when ACC is active. The activation speed is not settable through coding or adaptation.

Cool, thought they were the answers after I had a look thru everything, but I thought I’d ask some smarter people than me to confirm.

Happy to have this retrofit finally complete and working! Now that I’ve started down the rabbit hole.....
