I think it should work. I remember seeing pictures of monochrome display with traffic sign displayed on it.

So, I finally have got my hands on the loan VCP, and been sent what *should* be the correct files to update my Gateway. However, I have no access to the VCP forums, so if someone was able to message me on how to confirm files are correct etc it would be much appreciated - if I brick the wife's car CoVid-19 will seem like a small mishap

You mean parameter files? You did not download them from the filemanager?

What are the files you have?

I have no idea how to use this. I have been given an odx file and an xml file but I cannot find any info as to how to actually use VCP and upload them

Edit : I have 5Q0907530AM-2265 ODX file. And a xml file of the same name. But when I have followed an old youtube video on doing it the system stops and closes with "error at sending Key 35 Key incorrect"
No idea where to go from here.

Authentic VCP? If Chinese clone throw it to trash bin quickly. You’ll ruin your camera with it.

If authentic ask the owner to download the dataset file from filemanager. Or you can actually do it as well as the files are tied to interface serial.

    Genuine licensed.
So I found an AJ version .zdc file in the file manager and have downloaded it.

Is this all I need, instead of the odx and xml?
Thanks for your patience and help, it is appreciated

Well I can’t get the gateway to update. I constantly get error 31 request out of range In the parameter upload, or file not valid if I try thru the flasher tool.
I don’t know what’s not going right, and I’m sick of mucking round with what has to be one of the most unfriendly pieces of software I’ve come across. VCDS is far more intuitive. Might help I suppose if I could see a manual it seems you have to have paid the money for it before you see how it works....

So a quick question - why did I need to update the gateway?

What is your gateway now? AM? Then AJ is not correct parameter file.

There's Ax on the file manager as well.

I don't know why you upgraded the gateway? Due to missing message errors?

Agree, that software is crap to use. But it is mandatory one as you can't do without it on MQB cars anymore.
