Hello guys

In this last year I have been fighting with the auto-lock system of my VW Amarok.
At the beginning using VCDS I had an intermittent error with the co-pilot's lock, I replaced the lock. the problem continued now giving error with the rear right lock.

I decided to change all the locks on the 4 doors and the fuel cap lock. The problem persists, but now VCDS does not report any errors.

the problem is that when the car reaches 15 km/h, the auto-lock is activated, but when driving, it sounds like the doors lock and unlock randomly, sometimes he only does it a couple of times.
It is annoying, otherwise it can damage the locks.

the vehicle only has 90,000 km, so it is unlikely that it is a wiring fault, when they installed the new locks everything seemed fine
My suspicion is the BCM module, for now I have decided to disable the auto-lock function.
If I decide to replace the BCM module with an identical one, would I just have to copy and paste the coding of my current BCM? Or would I have to make additional adaptations such as keys?
What do you recommend me to do before deciding to change the BCM?

Please post an Auto-Scan for context.

the last scan was about 2 months ago, and at that time I had problems, but as you see since I have the new locks there are no errors generated

More like something keeps giving false command to unlock the doors and autolocking feature returns the locked state immediately if car is in motion. What about button for locking/unlocking from inside? Or wiring to it? It will not record any fault code as pressing button is normal user operation... ;)

I do not think it possible, I have already done it, when I unlock the doors from the button with the car moving, it does not lock. until I do it manually or lower the speed to less than 15 km/h and go back up the speed.
I do this when the locks start to give problems and sometimes it works because it stops doing for a good time.

Today I disabled the auto-lock function, if the door switch is the cause of the problem, it should unlock the doors when the car is moving. if it doesn't, I think it would be ruled out.

UPDATED!

I made a short tour with auto-lock disabled, before starting the march I locked the doors from the door switch. A few meters ahead I hear noise in the locks, I stop and try to open the doors from outside, but inside the car, (I lowered the windows to be able to do), the doors are locked.

I continue and make noise again, I stop and check, the doors closed.
It's strange, but I hadn't commented that the sound is dimmer than when I unlock the doors with the button.
locking and unlocking the doors from the switch, there comes a time when the button to unlock stops responding, so maybe you're right, the switch may be failing.

Anything else to discard it?

bad news, today I replaced the central locking switch with an original one, all the wiring looks good.

But the problem persists.

Try to monitor lock/unlock commands with VCDS in graphic mode. You need to find from what circuit the locking command is coming from. I don't have Amarok WD in front of me now, but I think there are some possibilities: inside lock/unlock switch, door lock cylinders for mechanical locking/unlocking from outside. Not sure Amarok has any lock cylinder at trunk area? If yes, I would check this circuit next.

I have monitored the status of the locks on a trip and I could see that the right rear door lock switches between lock and unlock.
I've already tried 3 locks on that door and the problem persists, cables and connectors look good.
I am almost sure that the problem must be the BCM, it is the only electrical problem of the car.
I have also already changed the switch of the central lock of the driver's door

If I decide to change the BCM for a new one, I just have to enter the same coding of the damaged one and adapt the key so that the central lock works from the remote control. or is it more complicated?

Forget the above, I decided to do another test, I took a trip with VCDS recording the status of the doors.

At the moment the locks made noise, VCDS only registered in the right rear door that the status changed from 'Locked' to 'safe', so the problem has to do with the SAFE system ?, currently the SAFE system is factory disabled .
When I turn off the car and remove the key, the message 'check SAFE' always appears on the dashboard

Now with this information, do you have any idea what the problem is? the other 3 doors kept the status 'Locked'

Hello

Me bothering again.

I have tried to lock the car with the remote control leaving the laptop running VCDS monitoring the status of the doors.
By doing this, I see that all the doors change their status to "safe" a different status to "locked", and the door that causes problems in motion just changes from "locked" to "safe".

Last week I had trouble installing a third lock, this time a generic one (Chinese) because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that might not work, and indeed, the problems continued.
I have tried 3 locks, 2 new and original and one unbranded.

Can it be concluded that the problem is the BCM?

What happens when you get rid of the safelock function?

I was just about to comment about safelock. I experienced this behaviour once when i activated safe lock functionality in the coding of my door controllers and in the BCM, to see if it would work (it didnt, different hardware). Check your door lock parts numbers and verify if theyre safe-lock or not, and if the coding matches the actual components.

Hello, your coding works, now I no longer see the message on the dashboard when removing the key, and verifying with VCDS the doors do not enter "safe" mode when locking the car with the key.
but the problem persists, and even with the safelocking system disable, when the locks make noise while moving they always try to put themselves in "safe" mode.
so it could be concluded that it is a BCM problem?

Yes, my locks are compatible with the safelocking system.

Hello

I finally found the problem and it was a contact problem in the door connectors, I disconnected the connectors from the 4 doors and used contact cleaner spray and a toothbrush to remove any dirt. so far everything is working perfectly.
In the end I think that the expense with the new locks was unnecessary, but the good thing is that the problem is already solved.
