Hi Group,

I needed to complete readiness on this 1Y 2005 New Beetle BEV.

I used the VCDS readiness script to complete this. I have a problem when it tries to run the monitor for secondary air. VCDS script goes to BS 211 and all values are blank. After doing some research I found that BS 221 is the correct BS. Hopefully this can be changed in the future. Please let me know if I need to supply more info like mapping the control unit, etc. to help fix it.

Now, I can run the secondary air test with BS 221 but the monitor never completes (xxxxx100) and it doesn't set a trouble code either. I have let the car cool down and run thru the complete monitor cycle 3x, Any ideas?

Thanks for any help or info, Shep

Thanks for the feedback with scan!

Santos (who created those scripts back in the day) will be back on Monday. I'm off Monday so feel free to bump this back up however my dealer days 2005 2.0L Engine Code BEV document lists the Readiness Recipe in this exact order:

202
204
209 *see note
206
207
217
210
212
216
220
208
221

Based on my fuzzy recollection I believe 209 was the fussy one and it had to complete before SAI would run.

That wasn't just a Beetle thing; rather all 2.5L engines could be particular about SAI. Hopefully running them in that exact order helps. If not, I would take it for a quick drive and let it run when you return to the garage so they can be repeated.
