I recently bought a 2003 Audi A4 cabriolet (B6 chassis). One of the issues it has is that it randomly drains the battery while sitting.
So, after changing the battery (old one was gone) and confirming that the alternator worked well, I decided to do a drain test.
I learned that the current never gets below 0.5 A (I waited for more than 30 min), but there was no clear fault.
SoI think the culprit on my case is the Confort control module (ccm). It is located below the floor in the drivers seat, as I found a lot of moisture there (just learned that the convertible roof leaks!)
After scanning the car using VCDS I got the following fault code:
My understanding is that single wire operation means that the CAN interface is not working and thus the car never gets into sleep mode. I have checked and the doors, hood and truck switches do report when thay are closed an open properly.
Has anyone seen this before?
I already took the part out and noted that the part reads:
8H0959433C while the scan reports 8E0-959-433
Could this mean that this part was changed in the past? If so, what is the correct part number to get?
