Hello

My name is Fernando. I have been reading about how some of the newer car models need to have the battery coded into the ECM every-time it is replaced.
I am particularly interested on a 2004 A4 audi (B6 chassis). I have been unable to find information that proves/disproves whether if battery coding is needed for this particular car.

I have tried the instructions from Ross-tech's you tube tutorial, below:

Nonetheless I was enable to find a battery management system or to connect to a can interface .
Does anyone have experience with particular car model?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

The B6 (and the B7) chassis doNOT need battery coding as it does not have any form of battery management system.

Just fit the new battery and deal with any subsequent faults, such as G85 needing calibration (turn the steering wheel full lock one way then full lock the other way worked for me whenI replaced the battery on my B6 & B7 cars).

Thanks for your answers. I suspectes it was not needed but information on line was rather conflictive.
Thanks!
