Hi, I have a 2003 jetta tdi standard, the customer wants to install a cluster from his parts car a 2005 jetta tdi bew standard as well. The reason he wants this done is because how the cluster looks. There is a current security code but ignore it, is caused by an aftermarket spare key sometimes doesn't read. I have security pin codes from both cars I understand the vin has to be written, coded and program the keys. The wiring diagram looks the same does anyone know if the cluster is compatible with this car.Mario

Auto-scan and part numbers would be a great start + go to retrofits........

Why not just swap the face plate?

Give part numbers please for both clusters

If you know how to use an eeprom reader, i can move the data from old cluster to new cluster for you very simply too, as well as radio code etc so everything will function correctly

Cluster will work ,I have done many of them.
Use Immobilizer 3 cluster matching procedure and you should be Ok if you have both SKC , from original and form 2005 cluster.

Maybe Marin but many are swappable in past anything 02.5> should indeed be Immo 3.

Happy New Year by the way haven't seen you in while.

I think OP should be more concerned with D2 coil being weak possibly/key issue or consider defeat since an old POS anyway, definitely better than being stuck!

All good now, new cluster is working. I took to long and battery died i also put the wrong pin and locked me out had to leave key on for a few minutes. Just google mk4 swap and tons of videos the hard part is getting the pin codes from both clusters. Thank you for your help, new cluster looks much better.Mario
