Change DRIVING PROFILE CHOICES for the VW Amarok

Hi all,

according to the 2 forum posts below, it should be possible to change how the car/engine reacts to the throttle position/changes.

According to the sites:

Direct Acceleration - Throttle response
With this mod, you can change the behaviour of the accelerator. Option B provides a more linear acceleration without programmed delays.

1. Module 44 - Steering Assist
2. Adaptation
3. Select - switching driving profile
Choices:
A - Gradual, controlled by time
B - Directly, controlled threshold value

When I connect my ACDS (which ALWAYS performed flawlessly, on my Amarok and a number of Audis and other VAG stuff...) comes up with "No response from Controller!"

Now - finally... :facepalm: - I realised, that my Amarok (2012, manual gear) probably doesn't have the "44 - Steering Assist"-Module, as it has a regular HYDRAULIC assist power-steering.
I assume a Module 44 - Steering Assist would require a adjustable/programable ELECTRIC power-steering.

The question now is - does the Amarok have a DRIVING PROFILE CHOICES switch at all?
If so - WHERE is it hidden?

I'll start searching through the modules shortly - but first I'll try here - maybe someone knows....

Not all Amarok's are built the same, so we'll need to see a full unedited VCDS Auto-Scan of your Amarok to answer that question.

Can you post an Auto-Scan of the car?

If it doesn't feature the driving profile selection in it's configuration, then I don't see why it could change the steering.

Please also note, that the informations of the two linked threads do not apply to your car, as it is not based on the MQB platform, but rather the PQ25 (Polo, T5).

Amarok 2012 manual biturbo-diesel

Thanks for the "in-thread points/tutorial"!

I have auto-scanned and effectively - I do NOT have the 44 module.
I searched through the "installed modules" and found only one possible area where "some" accelerator functions could be adjusted.
There are a total of 10 Accelerator Functions available...

I will try to decipher what is what and what can do what - if I get stuck (..probable!), I'll be back shortly!

These functions are under the 17-Instrument module - Adaption-10 - drop-down, about 2/3 down - "....-Function_accelerator_...."

AFAIK the Driving-Profile as it relates to the throttle has no impact on the Steering Assist. For unknown reasons VW decided to "hide" the switch in this module - probably they don't want easy access to the feature for liability reasons (Crack changes settings, loses it on the test drive, crashes - sues VW for damages, etc...)
