I am working on a 2013 Volkswagen Passat TDI 2.0, and it seems to have quite a bit pressure in the crankcase, when I loosen the oil fill cap when engine is running it bounces around like there’s quite a bit of pressure there, and dipstick also has pressure, was wondering if that is normal?

No, I don't think that's normal, but I'm not sure what would cause it on that car either.

Hello OP and welcome to the VCDS forum.

Would not a failed PCV cause that, as well as an overwhelming amount of blow by gasses or VNT turbo gasses being diverted to sump?

Is engine overfilled with oil or wrong oil?

Where is the auto-scan and did you JPPSG yet?

The RTFB might shed some light as well as SSP for design and theory, no?

I'd say post a video...

If its just a little bouncing... it can easily just be all the gases jumping around as the pistons leap up and down inside there...
