PASSAT B8 SW SIDE/LANE CHANGE ASSIST RETROFIT

Hello, I'm enjoying lane assist retrofit and I'm willing to retrofit Side assist in addition.
I'm asking where to plug the thing above J533 on the picture below:

Those go the radars behind rear bumper. J769 and J770

That is the ready made wiring set from Aliexpress. T27g and T27d go to door connector on the car frame side. The big blocks connected with red drawing on the picture. That is a connector block on the wire itself.

And for this, the easiest point to attach to ignition live and can bus extended high and low are on the connection point in driver footwell, just below A pillar.

If I understand, this plug above J533 Can Gateway pins is here to avoid multi soldering on T7/T17 which are already used for ACC and lane assist. I'm talking about the plug just at the right of "CANBUS" writted on diagram.
    Am I right?
    I think there's a mistake on the diagram. J533 has a T20 connector, not a T27...?

Sorry, I didn't read your answer. But I noticed it was a male/female plug just to allow parts dismantling.
As I understand, you say it's not necessary to run through the Can Gateway? There's a coupling point at the bottom of A pillar???

Yes exactly. That plug is quite often on these chinese wiring sets. They allow easy tapping on to existing wiring without having to solder.

And yes, use A pillar connection point. That is really easy and you anyway need to remove some of the panels to gain access to the door connector.

I know youíre not afraid to do it again

Only thing I hate when removing & re-installing trim parts is that you always introduce a rattle or two after putting everything together.

VW dealer gave me rattles for free after every intervention, so I choosed to remove all trims and you can how they broke it:

I have heated all trims to turn it in the original shape, insulated all the car, put clothed tape on every contact surface to avoid any noise and put all back in place. Really zero noise
If you don't dismantle parts in the correct sequence order, you won't be able to put it back correctly. I.e, to remove C pillar, you have to dismantle all from the trunk threshold. You always can do it partially but as you said, with rattle noise.

So, I found calibration material procedure on Audizine:

    https://workshop-manuals.com/audi/a4...nit_j769/j770/

    And calibration field:

    With measures:

And calibration procedure on VCDS only to calibrate rear camera:
It's in Touareg procedure but also good for passat...

But this calibration is not for side assist. The same board is used but only for positioning the doppler device. The radars are calibrated by generating doppler signal that interferes the radars reading area.

Side assist is maybe the most difficult one to self calibrate but same time the one giving most satisfaction when it succeeds
