Hi all,

Please bear with me, its my first post on the forum :)

I have an intermiitent warning that pops up and dissapears from the dash, its the "Emission Control System" light.
There is no them as to when it comes on as it could be at start up, mid journey in a short trip or long trip, or sometimes not at all. I have cleared the error code down and it turns the light off but inevitably comes on again, so I was hoping for some help from you guys (and girls) to help guide me through the process of identifying what the issue is and whether its something I can address myself. I have included the scan from the section that appears to be linked.....I hope I have included what is needed, and if not, please be kind :p

There is no drop in performance or change in driving whether the warning light is illuminated or not, and I had not had anything done to the car/changed at the point of it appearing.

Hmm, less than 44,000 miles on it. DPF should no not have efficiency issues, so I'd be more inclined to think this is a problem with some sensor.

The first thing I would look at is what the G450 differential pressure sensor is doing.
IDE07744 -- Particle filter: air pressure sensor 1 bank 1: raw value (hPa)
IDE07745 -- Particl.filt.: different.press.sensor 1 bank 1: adaptat. value (hPa)
IDE07747 -- Par.fil: diff.pr.sens.1 bank 1: offset (hPa)

Look at those values both with the key on, engine off and with the engine idling.

In addition check the various exhaust temperature sensors. I would start with:
IDE07716 -- Particle filt.inlet temp.sens.1 bank 1: raw value (°C)
IDE07718 -- Particle filter outlet temp.sens.1 bank 1: raw value (°C)

Specifically I might suggest letting the whole engine and exhaust assume ambient temperature overnight and then look at the values from those sensors without starting the engine just as a reality check.
