Hi everyone,

I need to change the ABS module in my 2009 Jetta, According to VW my car has the 1K0 907 375 AN abs module. Now according to VCDS my module is a 1K0 907 375 AD.
So I just recently acquired an ABS Module from a 2011 TDI jetta, Part number 1K0 907 375 AT. Will I be able to re code this module to work in my 2009 Jetta?

Also I should mention the PCM is not the original for the Car. Its still from a 2009 jetta but has been flashed with a Malone stage 2 tune and the immobilizer has been deleted.

No, you're looking at the hardware part number. The part number that's really relevant here is the software part number, and what you have is: 1K0 907 379 CD.

Its been doing some very random things, abs sensor codes coming and going randomly, steering angle sensor needing to be randomly reset, traction control kicking in without wheelspin, and speedometer reading 1/2 the speed the car is going. The traction control will randomly activate as well with the ABS lite on as well. Then everything will work fine for a while. So I picked one up for a good price and want to swap it to see if it fixes the issues.

A lot of symptoms You described may be explained by this:

Sensor, wiring, wheel bearing.
This does not explain sporadic communication interruptions on CAN. Faulty ABS module can cause comm faults, but, from another side, comm faults on CAN may cause similar symptoms like faulty module.
Anyway, if You already have replacement, go on, try it ;)

I figured it was worth a try to replace it, i had the same code for both rf and rr sensors as well but the funny thing is both wheel bearings and sensors are new, Ive also checked resistance on the wiring from the wheel to the module. These codes all come and go. One thing I should also mention is that the lr sensor always reads 10% higher than the other 3 sensors.

Any ways, I just wanted to know if the newer module will work on my car? How would I go about figuring that out?

So my actual VIN is 3VWRL81KX9M154154. I'm not sure if this will make a difference on the ABS modules I can use.

I had seen another thread on this forum where a guy managed to get the newer 1K0 907 375 AT module working on a 2009 golf I believe

I get that I currently have a LR ABS sensor code but I have multiple codes that come and go. I have multiple symptoms which almost point to an ABS module or as you are thinking possible power , ground or CAN bus issues.

So i think the easiest thing for me to do is swap the ABS module, since I have one to see if the issue goes away. If the issue is still there then I will have to dig further. But for right now I would really like to try and get this ABS module working on my car. According to the link I supplied its doable, but I might be dead wrong

So according to your chart my car should have a 1K0 907 375 AD ABS module in it? So it makes sense that VW gave me the 1K0 907 375 AN part number as that is the superseded part number

Whats confusing me is my scan says I have the following Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 CD HW: 1K0 907 379 AD

So does this mean I should be looking for these part numbers in the wrecking yard for an ABS module?

Or should I be fine as long as the module says 1K0 907 375 AD or AN?

Nope it means that the module started life as you aforementioned and than was reprogrammed & by "someone" with different software than originally certified or imported to comport with conformity as per NHTSA?

with regard to safety recalls, I have swapped out the PCM and have a DPF delete kit on the car so im assuming any kind of warranty or recalls would be voided?

with regard to safety recalls, I have swapped out the PCM and have a DPF delete kit on the car so im assuming any kind of warranty or recalls would be voided?

You know I do appreciate the help but no need to be a dick here. A simple yes or no would suffice. I like to be thorough and ask questions if I don't 100% understand the answer given.

I just needed to know if the modules would interchange and that's it.

At this point its easier to swap out the module to see if that corrects my multiple symptoms.

If it does not then I will try and track down each individual issue, so no need at this point to make this any more complicated than what I had originally asked for

This forum is for VCDS related questions, not a substitute for the repair manual or microfiche & regardless of your disingenuous aforementioned correspondence.

It is important to me, that certain things you ascertain on your own and to stop dependence.

Time to RTFB, JPPSG and if seeking a consultant maybe call parts department of franchise to cross check information.

Do you need links I'd be happy to provide them?

You sir are being a sarcastic ass and a dick.... a simple yes or no would have been sufficient to my questions..... not how you went about it...... If you didn't want to help someone else could have. This is a forum
where everyone can learn something from every situation that arises. You own a business selling parts and your response is definitely not professional on your part what so ever.

I'm trying to help you realize the answers on your own & why things have an order to bring about consistency.
I hate magic answer requests or defined sloppy help requests outside the scope of what is already been answered and twice I might add & due to your, from inception, aforementioned sloppiness with lack of attention to detail.
I don't need your money either or business advice, I'm here for free and for my own entertainment.
Simple yes and no answers are no fun.
I'd much rather see you squirm with obscenities at me, they bring me joy and show me you love me, with your petulant entitled behavior the Country suffers from.
I hope you realize you already learned something and that you don't always get what you want & just because you want to know or get clarity.

First of all, I never asked for any diagnostic advice at all... In my initial post I asked if the 2 ABS units were compatible. I had for the most part done my diagnosis. I didn't want to waste anyone's time but I got some answers which were a little unclear to me an I asked for confirmation of those answers. The information I was looking for wasn't available at my local VW dealer or my aftermarket parts guy. So I figured if anyone would know, it would be people on this forum. Instead I'm met with this sarcastic difficult asshole, and you should be ashamed of yourself for behaving in that way and trying to make things harder than what they should be.

I myself am a licensed technician and don't pretend to know everything which is why I came to this forum asking about the modules. So being a technician I strive to be very thorough, hence the questions.

But if this is the way your going to be, maybe you need to find another forum if your going to be difficult. You sure have a way to make a new guy feel welcome. Its all about working together and respecting one another and you have definitely failed at the respect part:rolleyes:

BTW , "Happy Thanks Taking" was last month in Canada:thumbs:
