Transporter T 5 Fan on all the time
I have a T 5 transporter and it had a small fire on top of the motor . I have replaced / repaired all the damaged wires and valves above the engine . I had the ECU checked and repaired because the car wouldn't respond to the throttle pedal .
The throttle all working now BUT the fan runs all the time and i get a fault saying 00779 Outside Air temp sensor ( G17 ) 30-00 Open or Short to plus .
We have changed the sensor and it didnt help . we have 5 volts on one of the wires Brown yellow stripe . the Vag com shows - 45 Degrees all the time
Any thoughts oh wise ones ??
Many thanks
Steve

-45 degrees is consistent with the control module's fault. Have you verified the wiring to that sensor?

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

If you have 5v on one wire, that is correct. Check other wire to sensor, back to Ecu. If this is verified ,Ecu is at fault. Also check 5v wire voltage when plugged into sensor, if it stops at 5 v I would say break on other wire.
