I have a fault code on a 2013 1.2Tsi Golf C10E2 54 (008) - Missing calibration/Basic Setting Intermittent.

Basically the hsa sometimes wont release. I did replaced the engine battery and 4days later this issue started. Not sure if that has any relationship to the issue.

Can someone explain how to calibrate the Hsa using VCDS please?

I'm not sure how to address your problem (other than myounus suggestion) - but in respect of your suspicion regarding the battery replacement, my belief is that this is not the case because of the supporting records in your DTC.

The time date stamp on the DTC is Date: 2019.11.07 Time: 12:51:06. . This means that the fault was first recorded 12 days before the date of your auto-scan (i.e. 8 days before the battery replacement). The further record Fault Frequency: 2 also indicates that since first appearing, the fault has only re-occurred once more.

So, without intending any offense, or implication - what was the car doing @ around mid-day-ish on 7th November? Perhaps have a look @ the AdpLog.CSV & CodingLog.CSV files in the c:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug sub-directory on your laptop for records around this time- maybe?

Hi Don,
I thought I has sent a message to you yesterday but I cannot see it. But thanks for replying to me.
I'm thinking that I might not be trying to reset as Mika_M & you said to try. I understand the idea of pressing the brake and operating the park brake switch but am I missing something about being in ''a test drive Basic Settings??'' I know I sound stupid but this is new to me & I do apologise for that.

I am not really sure what you have tried. What I suggested, was to follow those instructions that Dana wrote in that old post. First cycle handbrake on and off while pressing brake pedal, then go for a little drive (not sure if this driving is needed?).

After that, apply basic setting [IDE05335-ENG114972] Electro-mechanical parking brake function test while keeping your foot off brake pedal.

If you have already tried all that, then I don't have any more suggestions.
