Hello guys,

Thanks for welcoming me here.

I decided to join because I'm getting issues with my ESC on a MK7 2013 TDI.

Of course I will give my help to other member when I'll be able to.

For the curious : Will post photos later

My car is a basic 1.6TDI 105hp totally tuned

Kufatec Sound Booster in the engine-bay + Kufatec Mini Sound at exhaust exit

Produced in end-2012 - Bought in may 2013 - Today mileage is 133 000kms (82 642 miles)

Stage 3 - DPF OFF - EGR OFF - Big Turbo (the one from the GTD) -

BMC carbon intake -

R-line Body - Full Led double U headlights -- Full rear led lights

Oil is Castrol 5w40 (as I have removed DPF) and oil is changed every 15 000kms (9320 miles)

Still on original clutch

Power is : 196hp (145 kw)

Torque is around 403nm on bench test

Average consumption is between 4.3 L /100kms (47mpg) and up to 7 L/100kms (33mpg)when driving hard and/or in moutains.

My age is 23

Hello guys,

I’m attempting to re-activate ESC on my 2013 (end 2012) MK7 GOLF TDI.
The only fault code I have is « C10C800 Fonction deactivated by adaptation » and the car writes me "ESC OFF" each time I put ignition ON.
Also, the ESC setting won't show up anymore in the car setting on the onboard screen

Please note i do not have the byte 29 on my ABS module as it has been manufactured in end-2012, so my malfunction is not coming from a wrong long-coding.

I use an official ROSS TECH CABLE (HEX NET V2 /3VINs)

History :

A myself-mistake has lead to get my ABS MODULE completely reseted early this year. (long coding 000000....)
I had a look in my ROSS TECH folder on my computer and hopefuly found a complete scan of my car from 2017.
Then I paste the old long coding and the coding has been accepted by the ABS module (I paid attention to re-use the good workshop number etc…).

I then made the basic settings for the various sensors (longitudnal acceleration, vertical, the wheel sensor etc, the brake pedal, etc, of course following different forums and the superb Ross-Tech WiKi

I’ve deleted the fault codes.
All went perfectly and the ABS is back, tire pressure monitoring works well, corner light are back again…

BUT…. IT REMAINS THE FAULT CODE BELOW, and it's the only fault on the car (will post the complete scan just at the end).

Many writes are in French as I'm French but I'll do any translation you'll need. I apologize for my relative english

ALSO, I can notice by reading advanced identification, there is no VIN registered in my BRAKES MODULE. Is it normal ? How to code it correctly ?

After days and days of investigation, I'm pretty sure to have found the good adaptation channels to modify (2 channels) :

- ABS BRAKES MODULE 03 --> Developer_Function_101 "Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR)" is set on NOT ACTIVATED and there is possibility to change it to ACTIVATED
- ABS BRAKES MODULE 03 --> Developer_Function_102 "ASR and ESP function deactivation" is set on ASR FUNCTION DEACTIVATION and there is possibility to change it to ACTIVATED or ASR AND ESP function deactivation.

SO... We can guess my problem is that the ASR is deactivated.... Well... that's a good thing to kno (and it relates good with the fault code "The function AYC+TCS or EDS were deactivated by adaption"

BUT, my major problem is how to change it ... VCDS don't let me change as it request a security code and no one works ! I've tried 40168 and 201003 and many others...
is there a special code for DEVELOPER ADAPTATIONS ?

Please note I already all the other adaptation channel and basic setting and all seem good.

Your help would be really apreciated as I am driving without ESC from months and months...

Some news about my problem. Thanks you all for help you gave me.

I finally fixed my problem this way : I used Odis-S for some guided steps, then finally ended with Odis-E, the last flashdaten available (2020), and I flashed back to factory (with the latest my ABS Brakes module. I then used the superb VIS4VAG (thank you, @Uwe !) website to recode my module, switched to VCDS and done some adaptations and basic settings, and all went back to normal !

and here comes my suggestion : should stop playing around with safety modules ( airbag, brakes). There are things you can mess with (convenience module , lights and such , etc etc) , and things that you should leave untouched ( specially brakes ).

Hello ! Happy to be back here, with some new questions.

Car is the same : Golf MK7, 2013, TDI, 219 000 km2. Already had some retrofits (rear camera, full led lights, Kufatec Engine Sound System.
Multimedia system is not VW one it’s an Alpine X901D with a full CAN access.

My few goals of the moments are :

Multifonction Steering Wheel upgrade (harness + buttons + cover on the original steering wheel)
Gateway Low to gateway High
Polar FIS MQB install with Virtual Cockpit firmware
Virtual Cockpit retrofit
Adding converter box to the Alpine system to send navigation data to the Virtual cockpit via the special optical fiber.

Original hardware parts number :

Gateway Low : 5Q0 907 530 D
Instrument cluster : 5G0 920 860 A
Steering module : 5Q0 953 549 AM (no need to change it)

New parts are :

Gateway High : 5Q0 907 530 Q
Instrument cluster : 5G1 920 791 B
Airbag harness for MFSW : 5G0971584S
The multifonction buttons + black cover to retrofit it directly on my today steering wheel.
Polar FIS module : already installed but can’t use it because I can’t navigate in the audio menu with my wiper stalker, no matters I have the ok buttons

Gateway upgrade is successful, made the Component Protection removal procedure with Odis and then modified long coding myself using VCDS, but lost Cruise Control so I also had to use ODIS again to perform a FEC restore via the « special functions » tab.

Youpi ! Everything works fine and I’m now on a Gateway-High without any faults.

Next step will be to install the MF buttons and plug it to the steering module with the new harness. Things will be ok as I already double checked everything about it.

The question is : what will I need to code and where to code it to make the MFSW works fully ? I simply need the basic controls (navigation in menus, volumes, tracks) and why not CC control (anyway will keep the wiper stalkers).

Then… the big question is : new or used Virtual Cockpit ?

I ordered a new Virtual Cockpit but just got an email from the shop telling me it’s sold out…. Super !

I won’t find an other new one at this price, so can I retrofit a used one ? I found a good one with 81 000kms.
I know I’ll be able to remove component protection, but can I adjust mileage ? I want to keep my car mileage.
