If you're using a HEX+CAN and you're trying to change channels that require messages of that length or more, then yes, you'll need to upgrade to a current interface.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

Can existing cable be upgraded or does it mean a new one?
If new one required how much?

HEX-V2 or HEX-NET. Contact Your distributor (Gendan) for upgrade pricing info.

I have none of those yet, I'm planning to obtain HEX-V2 (because of lower price). For my understanding all the things that can be done with car are the same for both. Only HEX-V2 is a classic type USB interface "dongle", but HEX-NET has a built-in WiFi node with a lot of wireless capabilities. Anyone correct me if I'm not right.

newer cars have different protocols and message length's so the interface needs to be improved
There are 3 kind of services
    GOOD CHEAP FAST
But you can only choose 2:
GOOD and CHEAP won't be FAST
FAST and GOOD won't be CHEAP
CHEAP and FAST won't be GOOD
