    Properly retrofitting factory xenons is a far more involved process than simply replacing the lights and connecting them with plug adapters. For reference, here's what looks like a pretty good guide for a proper retrofit -> https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index...trofit.341350/

    Here's a complete kit for example -> https://www.carsystems.eu/vw-golf-7-...ts,id1174.html

    SiLc is correct. For the xenons to properly work you'll need range control module and rear leveling sensor.

    Also like Don already suggested, you're leuchte adaptation channels in BCM module are now set for halogen lights. They for example have reduced power and are set to PWM mode. You need to change the light types to xenon and pump the dimmwert value to 100 for the respective light channels.

    Check the reference scan section of the forum. There I think I saw one Golf mk7 autoscan where also some adamaps were attached. You'll need a BCM adamap from a car with factory xenons.

    Probably will be set for halogen lights, but in coding I couldn't see any box to tick for halogen or xenon, no option was available unless there in another module I've missed

    For MQB cars you don't set anything for the light configuration in coding. All settings are done through adaptation channels.

    But one more thing caught my eye in the autoscan. If I'm not entirely mistaken, the car has midline BCM which is not supporting xenon lights. This plug'play retrofit is starting to look a lot more than that

    ^^^ following-on downtime's thoughts - check these adaptation channels in the BCM:

    ENG116942-ENG115986-Leuchte6ABL LC5-Lasttyp 6 (left-side headlight)
    ENG116943-ENG116005-Leuchte7ABL RB1-Lasttyp 7 (right-side headlight)

    If the channels have the setting 11 - Abblendlicht, change to 3 - Xenon Abblendlicht

    Don

    PS: I'm assuming of course that the new loom has retained the OEM Leuchte-set assignments

    His bcm will have these settings just like any other halogen configured car, but his bcm doesn't support xenon lights and changing to these settings will trigger mfd error ( orange triangle error lights) with no dtc in 09.

    (1)-Leuchte6ABL LC5-Lasttyp 6 --> 3 - Xenon Abblendlicht
    (5)-Leuchte6ABL LC5-Lichtfunktion B 6 --> Lichthupe generell
    (6)-Leuchte6ABL LC5-Dimmwert AB 6 --> 127

    (1)-Leuchte7ABL RB1-Lasttyp 7 --> 3 - Xenon Abblendlicht
    (5)-Leuchte7ABL RB1-Lichtfunktion B 7 --> Lichthupe generell
    (6)-Leuchte7ABL RB1-Dimmwert AB 7 --> 127

    ^^^ thanks for the heads-up. But it's a simple matter of reverting the settings back if this happens - so in the absence of a more definitive solution and since you have used "may" (instead of "will") in your response - perhaps worth a try nevertheless?

    But again - a worthwhile point to make for OP's benefit (and mine)!
