Does anyone know if you can switch off the high voltage system with VCDS in the new e-Crafter?

Thanks in advance.

Please post an Auto-Scan. ;)

From poking around on Andy's A3 e-tron, what actually disables the high voltage system is pulling a plug that completes a low-voltage circuit that energizes the coil of the high-voltage contactor. Everything done with a scan-tool is just "CYA" verification.

I cannot say for sure whether this is also true of the e-Crafter.

I always remember the acronym I was taught for safe working on HV systems:
S - Switch off
I - isolate (i.e. open a physical switch/connector)
D - dump (i.e. discharge any capacitors)
E - earth (so if anyone does manage to override the Switch off andIsolate you won't suddenly be touching HV)

It would appear that the scan-tool may do the "Switch off" part, the connector Uwe mentions does the "Isolate" part and it's down to good training to follow the "Dump" and "Earth" parts.
