Hey guys, this is my first post to the forum and I'm looking to get some help. A little back story on the car: It is a 2007 A6 4.2 V8 that I bought a while ago for $2k because the guy thought it needed a headgasket, but I figured it was just intermediate cooling pipe o-rings (which it was). So I do know how to work on these cars, but this new problem has me stumped. It has 128k miles and runs perfectly aside from the idle.
The Problem:
I have a random code for the HP fuel sensor and one for the O2 sensor. They only pop up once a day on the first cold start when it gets to about 640rpm (see AutoScan)
And this thing idles like a cammed out 70's muscle car when warm at about 640rpm. when cold started it has misfires but the computer does not recognize any (checked adv. blocks in vcds and 0's across the board)
Things I have done:
Oil Flush and change 1k miles ago
Run injector cleaner
Performed the CRC Intake valve cleaning with the car running (not manual clean) Valves looked fine when I had the intake off but was planning to do a cleaning when it warms up again in the spring.
New PCV valve
New Coils
New Valvecover gaskets
Fixed all oil leaks
Things I question:
Intake runners are operated by two motors, but bank 2 is higher than bank 1 (misaligned?) ..Throttle body adjustment performed, didn't change anything.. There is a high pitched whining sound
from the actuator motor when the car is turned off. (almost like its stuck, but moves freely when revved)
Had an intermittent "Bank 1 catalyst Below efficiency" That went away about 6 months ago and hasn't come back (I've heard these cats go bad)
Runs up the RPM range perfectly with no misfires
Block 93 has all adjustments between -/+2 except for Bank 2 intake phase position that has no reading (Blank box).
I removed and regapped all of the spark plugs to 0.028 and it seems to have liked it just slightly more, but the spark plugs are AutoLite Platinum (from what I understand a sub-par spark plug)
So Just looking to see what would be next recommended as far as what to do, my thoughts were swapping the camshaft sensors to try and get a reading on bank 2 Intake position Phase and then probably inspect the catalytic converter.

Ignore the electrical faults, that was due to a bad Sirius module That was draining the battery. ( battery was and is fully charged now)
