another fail DSG7 BOX ; common fault is mech unit valve body, and gearbox selector fork ; sounds like the shop didnt do a good job ,troubleshoot as follows :

    1. use vcds "The Removal Position Basic Setting group number is 062"
    2. Remove mechatronic unit (7 bolts to be removed)
    3. confirm the Reverse and 6th Gear selector fork in the Gearbox is not stuck (damaged bearings)
    - all four selector forks need to move in three positions (Gear|Neutral|Gear), the upper left is the concerned fork 6 and reverse, usually it cannot move the the further left (reverse gear) bearings damaged failing to move.
IF CONFIRMED ALL SELECTOR FORKS ARE OK:
    4. the Mechatronic unit valvebody has the problem, simple interchange tcm to another mech unit valve body and installed mechatronic unit correctly according to Repair manual.
    5. one litre mech unit hydraulic fluid and 2 litre 75W gear oil .

    GOOD LUCK!

Thanks For the Above, i removed the mechatronic as instructed and checked accordingly. i can confirm the fork for R and 7 isn't stuck in the gear box though I did find it a little stiff though compared to the others.. maybe that is an issue?

no! once it moves your okay, the fact that it moves not a problem, the lever tool T10407 is applied those forks will feel with tension, if you disengage the lever tool, and check the forks are way more easy to move , time to get a new Mech unit Valve-body.

Sorry for the very very late reply... the TCU coding was the issue, dealer sorted it in 2 hours...delivered the car to client after testing it for 4 days and made sure no errors popped up on VCDS.

    Thank you all

    Have an awesome 2020!!

So what was the correct coding? Do you have a scan of it in its final, road-worthy condition?

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
