Polo fuel trim issue

hello everyone new to the site !but hoping for some help with a reoccurring issue on a 2014 polo 3cylinder petrol ,11730 (po171) system too lean car has had a recent engine change due to a failed timing chain all parts swapped between engines apart from inlet manifold ! have smoked tested engine for any air leaks with no joy replaced front lambda due slow activity and obviously reset all adaptations .usually takes 2/3 days before fault reoccurs with no obvious loss of power thanks in advance

"Too lean" is either air unmetered getting into the engine somehow, or not enough fuel.

But I don't know this engine or the SIMOS management it has on it.

hi yes I realize what causes issue and ive checked for the leaks was hoping that the faults would help to give me a better area to check or anyone with previuos experience of issues
