    MQB Mk7 ABS Module bleeding - basic settings (?)

    Finally got my new ABS module installed in my quest to get ACC retrofitted into my NAR 2015 GSW TDI.

    I'm looking for how to do the ABS pump cycling and pumping of brake pedal (if needed?) that I had to do on my Mk4 when a line was opened and air got to the ABS pump.

    I clicked on BASIC SETTINGS, and it provides a raft of things, but no instructions.

    Questions:
    1. Do I need to have pressure bleeder attached? 29psi I assume if so (that's what's referenced in manual for just about anything ABS hydraulics-related).

    2. I did get the ABS pump pumping - but do I just let it run? With the pressure bleeder still attached?
    Any opening of bleed valves and pumping brake pedal 10x or whatever?

    Any info / experience would be appreciated.

    Since there's no indication here that VCDS isn't working correctly, this does not belong in Product Support.

    Since you've retrofit a different ABS, I've moved this to Retrofits.

    Please post an Auto-Scan for context so people can see exactly what ABS module you've got in this car.

    The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

    I imagine you would want the Basic Setting labeled:
    IDE03649-ENG112323 -- Fill/bleed brake system

    But I do not have any detailed instructions for this.

    That option opens up a window that has the usual "GO" button, along with two boxes that require "enter a one- to three-digit number" (in ms). Every number I tried failed. Without any instructions or guidance, I couldn't figure it out.

    Run all the basic setting options, drive car and see if any lights remain on. Re-scan car and post updated scan, don't worry if you can't run a specific basic setting

    Careful -- that could be mis-interpreted. I'm pretty sure he does NOT want to run some of the Basic Settings in that list, for example "Resetting of all adaptation values" would probably be a Bad Thing (although I expect VCDS would warn about that one).

    Ah yes it could be, thus to clarify only run the options that start with 'basic setting':
    Basic setting for brake pressure sensor
    Basic setting for inlet / cut off valve
    Basic setting of ESP sensor unit.

    Like I mentioned, I had tried to do a couple of those Basic Settings or Output Tests in VCDS, but it asked for some parameter inputs ("input a number with one to three digits"), and whatever I entered always gave me errors.
    I switched over to some Other Diagnostic Interface System which guided me through the process. Once I did that along with the basic settings of the steering angle sensor, all of the errors went away.

    That's odd as VCDS worked for me perfectly fine when I changed my ABS pump. Ah well at least you're sorted.
