MQB Blind spot monitor and VCDS

I have an MQB Tiguan (2018 SE) and my blind spot monitor system went nuts and then died, however VCDS shows no fault codes of any kind (autoscan below).
First the little light in the rear view mirror started blinking on and off for no reason (nothing in blind spot) and then now it never comes on.
My real question is there any way to look at this function with VCDS. I am just surprised that it is apparently quite dead but there are no DTCs stored. It is going into the dealership next week for a "calibration", but this apparently requires special equipment and VW's computer system. Can VCDS see anything about this system? I assume it is controlled in some way by the CECM (09).

Are you sure you haven't configured it off using the infotainment or instrument cluster menus? Find the checkbox and make sure it's turned on, likewise for Rear Cross Traffic Assist. I dimly recall it does a little flash dance when it's enabled or disabled. I believe it can also be enabled or disabled on a per-driver-profile basis. I'll also note, for others that might come across this thread, it will auto-disable if a trailer is detected, but I can see you're not equipped with a trailer detection module.

Boy, do I feel stupid. Some idiot (me) accidentally turned off blind spot monitoring while looking for (or playing with) something else. However, thanks to you I don't feel nearly as stupid as I would have if I had asked the dealership service department to fix it and then they just turned it back on.

For future searchers..

If you remove your mirror glass with blind spot monitoring and turn on your ignition, the car may disable the blind spot monitoring option automatically. After pulling mine out, blind spot monitoring didn't work. Didn't occur to me the system would turn monitoring off on me. Fortunately this thread spurred me to check the setting. Thanks for that.

(Shame on me. Isn't that one of the basic debugging rules? Check all cables, settings, etc? Admittedly i forgot it could be disabled via settings, but still.)
