In that link the poster does say that they have only worked on one MLB A4 (and I couldn't see a date when that was posted), given that VAG/Audi have been changing a lot lately it's quite possible that the instructions are not applicable to your new A5.

I can't share the scan directly but .. I wonder if the lack-of that Alarm horn / Subsystem 2 is the problem?
marble, I would keep an eye out for B9 A5 scans and see if any with factory beep also have a LIN alarm horn slave module in their scans.
