60 reg audi a3. car was started with key which was not programmed, started up briefly but cut out and safe came on instrument panel and now will not start with working keys. safe is in display on instrument cluster. no faults stored in immobiliser. live data shows keys are good, can anyone help please.

OK, what does "will not start" mean? Won't crank? Cranks and won't fire? Cranks, fires, and dies?
I don't see anything in that scan that gives us any real clues.

Often caused by the key no longer being matched to the immobiliser.
Yes, but a key that was matched doesn't become unmatched just by using another key that "was not programmed". I would guess there's more to this story than we know right now.

The 2 keys in live data are showing programmed. Both fixed code and variable code. The live data just shows engine ecu not permitted car to start. The car came with 3 keys. 1 is showing not programmed.this was apparently the car to go into safe mode.
