    Seat Leon 1M with BAM Engine Cruise control retrofit problem.

    We have recently fitted a cruise control to a 2005 Seat Leon Cupra R 1M with a BAM Engine code.

    I am having trouble getting it to work.

    Please see attached autoscan and you will see there is a fault code logged in the engine control module concerning this.

    I am confident that it has been wired up correctly and in measuring block 066 the bits all change when operating the cruise switch and the clutch and brake switches.

    I have entered 11463 in "login" (although nothing seems to happen, I think it is activating/deactivating as the specified vehicle speed appears and disappears in block 066)

    I have also refreshed the gateway installation list.

    Does anyone have any ideas please?

    In 01: Engine, in the Component field, the addition of the 'G' character means the module has accepted the login and activated Cruise Control.

    The 'Implausible' fault is flagged as intermittent. Have you tried clearing it to see if it recurs? The ECM reporting the switch position as implausible means it can't determine what position it is from the given inputs. This may be because:

    1) It is the incorrect switch for the application
    2) It is wired incorrectly
    3) The wiring/terminations are not sound
    4) The ECM is faulty
    5) Even though the ECM accepts the login; and flags the 'G', it still may not support Cruise Control

    I know the 1M did not ever have factory CC - but I don't know if people have successfully retrofitted.

    I must admit, the installation instructions do not list the BAM engine but researching online threw up that people had done it successfully by following the AUQ pin data and wiring. So we went for it. Now beginning to wish we hadn't! lol

    I have checked the wiring over a few times and it is correct as per the AUQ engine instructions. As I say the bits change when you operate the cruise switches and the clutch and brake pedals.

    Can't be that hard....I'm intrested to find a solution here, but I'm away on vacation in Germany and most likely not near a computet for anothet week.

    If You haven't found until then, I will check.

    I had the same case sometime ago ... but without the fault ...

    The problem was the ECU had been remapped and the cruise control disabled ... even the letter G apperared in the Autoscan.

    Once the ECU recovered its original mapping, the cruise control was able to be activated without problems ...

    Yes, I was going to add that although the BAM was used in the Audi TT; it is with a different ECU that may have a different binary image in it. Of course the Bosch enclosure looks as identical as any other ME7.5 ECU. You also can’t flash the binary for a TT in there, because all 225 TTs were quattro and therefore the ECU looks for Module 22: Haldex.

    As suggested above, try a standard base image first.
