Hi All,

I have recently brought a 2003 V6 4motion. it has a odd issue of the ESP kick in when cornering fast. after some research i have found the previous owner has change the steering rack to one from an vw golf R32 / mk1 TT. so it has 2.7 turns lock to lock compared to the original 3.5 turns. making the esp think the cars losing control and kicking in.

i would think this would be a soft coding issue where i can set in the new rack options. but cant see it in VCDS. does anyone have a mk4 R32 and willing to share there ABS coding to see if there is a difference ?

I forgot to save the autoscan but will post it up when i get a chance.

the unit is Mk60 esp abs
the ABS part number is 1C0 907 379F and soft coding is 0023046

Any help would be great thanks :)

This is a 2004 US model R32:

Code:
Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 1C0-907-37x-ESP-A.lbl
   Part No: 1C0 907 379 P
   Component: ESP ALLRAD MK60 0101
   Coding: 0023049
   Shop #: WSC 31414 000 00000

But I don't see anything in what we know about the coding that pertains to steering rack ratio.

It is wiring-coding.

Meaning You have to change pinout in ESP connector, but I don't have wiring handy at this point of time.
