Hi,

could someone with erWin or dealer portal access check for me if there's a TPI for DSG flash for DQ500 gearbox, please? And if yes, to what version the update is suggested?

Car is : VW Tiguan 2017 190TDI DFHA engine DSG DQ500 4Motion

Symptoms : Jerky gear changes from 1->2->3. Slow gear changes. Jerky downshifts.

Basic settings and adaptation drive done and no change basically.

I can't think of anyplace it would be a better fit, so I'll leave it here.

You have 1410. It looks like there are versions 1411, 1412, 1413, 1449, and 1450. But that's not the exact answer you are looking for and I do not have access to the dealer portal.

Thanks Uwe. I did notice the same that those versions are available for my DSG box but for some reason I’m not very keen to start upgrading the dsg box without TPI. Might go from bad to worse

Ok, bought some quality time in erWin and found one TPI that suggests SW update. The update I should apply would be 0DL300011A revision 1449.

Is there any pitfalls I should be aware of when updating gearbox software? I have official tools.

Ok, tranny (yes transmission, not a trans granny

) is now upgraded to 1449 version.
After basic settings and some test driving somewhat smoother 1-2-3 changes. Let’s see after some time when this settles.
Oh and changes are much faster than before.

Upgrade is not for the faint of heart as every possible error pops up

Ok, after a few days of driving I can confirm that the update made the gearbox function much smoother than before.
From 1 to 2 shift is still a bit jerky but from that point on it shifts nicely. But the biggest difference I've noticed is the speed how the gearbox now shifts. It is much faster than before and also it now is better matching the revs so that it is not juddering on too high gear when your turning on an intersection for example.
There's one good place to test this near my home. There's a free right turn lane on an intersection from a main road. The free right is a separate lane that curves right and after the curve you need to join the road quite quickly as the lane ends.
Usually after the curve the speed is about 50km/h and the car is juddering on 5th gear. Now all the occasions I've driven the car is already on 4th and it is instant acceleration when needed. Similar behavior on normal intersections as well.

What has not been fixed however is the slow response shifting down on some occasions. For example you want to accelerate and if you don't press the pedal firmly and fast enough, it takes quite a while for the gearbox to react.
I have not tried could this be fixed by changing the accelerator setting to linear response.
