Where can I find AC Pressure & Air Temp Sensor in VCDS for '14 Q5?

Long time, casual user, but just signing up for forums and don't have it with me right now to be "verified"...

Where do I go to find helpful sensors/values for diagnosing HVAC only blowing hot air (no AC in summer)?

VCDS showed no fault codes in any controller.
I assume some of the things I want to check are the following - where do I find those? What else should I also be checking?
1.) Bad air temp sensor (had this problem in B5S4 before)
2.) Bad AC Pressure Sensor (G395, TSB 87D9)
3.) Actual leak/low pressure

Wihtout a fault code, I figured it made sense to check values of these sensors to see if they are reasonable. When my temp sensor read low before, it never threw a code, but was low enough to cause the AC to not turn on. I'm wondering if something similar. Others pointed me to the TSB for bad AC pressure sensor, turns out mine is not in the known-fault production range. I was thinking if that read low pressure to cause AC to not turn on, I would have gotten a code for that though (regardless if due to bad sensor or actual low pressure???)

Yes, by all means. An Autoscan tells us exactly what car you have, what modules and their part numbers are installed, what possible faults might be affecting the issue you have, and most importantly which interface and software you're using.

Can you please explain now why you have an issue providing the data we need to help you?

Essentially, no autoscan, no help.

Essentially, no autoscan, no help.

That makes perfect sense, I would be happy to provide. I had assumed my question was more generic, so I wanted to learn to understand how the scan provided benefit as I did not have any fault codes (I did have one for a low battery in keyfob).

I have no issue providing it; not sure how you came to that conclusion

Thanks Uwe. What about interior air temp? Years ago my B5 S4 would only blow hot and turned out to be sensor in air duct just after cabin/pollen filter. In that car, the situation was more obvious because the cars external temperature display would go wonky.

What, you think there's just one?

MVB 034 should have four vent temperatures:
034.1 Dashboard left (G385)
034.2 Dashboard right (G386)
034.3 Footwell left (G261)
034.4 Footwell right (G262)

Temperature downstream of the evaporator: MVB 035.1

I think the "main" interior temp sensor in the dashboard (G56) is in MVB 036.1

This thing isn't as simple as your B5.

PS - did you "automatically" update me to "Verified"? When I turned on my laptop today, I took a photo of the "About" screen expecting I needed to enter some data into a field, but when I look at my profile here now, I see it already says "Verified". Did a bunch of testing this morning and the temps are all as expected.

The refrigerant pressure ranges were: (bar)
S5: 13.4-14.4
Q5: 2.6-4.4
A7: off: 7.8-8.4, on: 13.2-16.6

I'll double check the S5 with the car off, then with the "car on + hvac on + ac off" and see what that low end was. It seems like pressure differences when the AC is off is more compelling now.

I've begun to look for an indy shop that will do the vacuum and refill so I can get it to the known spec.

Have three questions:

1.) I noticed that 001.1 & 001.2 showed an electrical current(amps) value. What does that correspond to? It seemed like it was 0 with some portion of the car off, and 0.6A with AC on - curious if that's current consumed by condenser or something else?

2.) and what's the corresponding name for that in my A7 which has the advanced measuring values stuff, like this:

3.) Also, in my A7, I get a "Compressor Shut-off Requirement (IDE00965)" as shown above. Is that available in the Q5 and if so what block/bits and meanings? Thanks!

That's the current to the compressor regulation valve. Should be less than 50 mA with the compressor off; between 300 and 800 mA with it running.
001.1 is the specified current
001.2 is the actual current.

; 12 = ECU load reduction request
; 13 = Refrigerant pressure sensor defective
; 15 = Refrigerant pressure 30x too high (?)
; 16 = Evaporator temperature below 0 °C
; 17 = Evaporator temperature below-5 °C
; 18 = Invalid outside temperature OR air temp at evaporator temperature defect.
; 21 = Outside temperature too low (with recirc)
; 22 = Outside temperature too low (without recirc)
; 24 = Compressor RPM too high

Had it occurred to me before, I would have realized that the >0A current indicated that the compressor was trying to operate and the 002 would not reflect a reason why the compressor was off (since it wasn't off). Indeed it has a value of 0.

In the end it was just low on pressure so we had it evac/recharged and all is good again now. It held vacuum for 15mins so no obvious leak. They put in UV dye just in case so we'll see if it leaks in the future.

Thanks for the help to allow me to diagnose this. The dealer wanted $155 diag fee, then later when I asked them how much for evac/recharge they estimated $285. I'm not sure had I gone in the first time and just had them fix whatever was wrong if they would have charged me $155+$285=$440. Instead I went to an independant shop and had it done for $120
