Hi Everyone

So I decided to start a new thread for this since I could find exact answers elsewhere.

I have retrofitted a polo 7 MFSW to my 2011 amarok. It originally came without a mfsw.
So I added two wires from my slipring, added a wire in pos 9, to 12v+, and added a wire in pos 10 to LIN in the BCM, these were added in the steering column plug. I picked up the lin wire running to the driver side doors as the BCM is just tucked to far away to reach.

I selected the option in the central electronics long coding and everything on the steering wheel works.
I tried to activate the steering wheel in the CAN Gateway, because if I can get into the steering wheel control module I should hopefulle be able to change its coding to select the cruise control to work from the steering wheel... But it doesn't pick it up if I select it in the CAN gateway.
What I did notice was that if I try to pick it up in the CAN gateway as a seperate module then the buttons doesn't work anymore. If I deselect it then it works again.

Can I get this steering wheel to come up as a seperate control module and not a slave to the BCM? Or is there some other way that I can get the CC to work from the steering wheel?

I hope the auto scan displays as it should...
Thanks

Ok, sorry for starting to answer my own questions... Figure out that I can change the coding on the slave modules...
And figured that 6C0 959 442 A under the BCM is my steering wheel...
But now I need to figure out what coding I need to use to enable the cruise control via the steering wheel...

Anyone with a autoscan on their newish vw that has got cc on the steering wheel??

Picked up something else.
So the steering wheel controls, except for the cruise control, works fine, until I use the buttons on the stalk to scroll the mfd where after the steering wheel buttons for the mfd won't work anymore until I shut off the car and turn it on again.

Still can't get the steering wheel cruise control to work however. I checked the wiring diagrams and it appears that the BCM on the amarok get actual wires for the different cruise control demands. Might make it more difficult to move to the steering wheel, unless a signla from the switch cancels out the steering wheel controls similar to the other stalk and steering wheel buttons does.

Another difference is that the old cruise control has a permanent on switch which constantly closes a contact to the BCM, the new one is a signal from the steeringwheel rather than a permanent signal I think. Wondering if this is only compatible with newer BCMs and instrument clusters? I know the newer clusters will show you when the cruise is on vs active, mine only shows when it's active and not when it's on but inactive...

Hello,

I won't be able to provide much assistance here but this vehicle cannot show MFSW functions under address 16. Instead, that's a slave of BCM/J519 as you mentioned:

Subsystem 3 - Part No SW: 6C0 959 442 A HW: 6C0 959 442 A
Component: E221__MFL-TAT H06 0023
Serial number: 2511619021502088AD1B
Coding: 280000

This is due to the vehicle platform rather than VCDS.

It is entirely possible that there's a more serious conflict preventing this form working but in my experience adding a MFSW and leaving the old MFA stalk installed can cause issues. Hopefully someone else can chime in here but I think you will need to either replace the stalk with a plain one (i.e. one that would be installed on a non MFA car) or isolate the wiring to/from those old stalk functions. Doing so may not get you any closer to functional CCS via the new wheel.

iichel may be able to recommend E221 slave coding based on some of his retrofit experience .. but this thread pointed out some of the discrepancies that could be relevant https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?13199-Cruise-control-label-7E0-BCM-gt-cancel-switch

We will report back if anyone at RT has solid suggestions or advice.

In the meanwhile, we have a customer (enthusiast that may be joining the forum) with engine issues related to turbo adjustment after a new WG was installed. If you happen to have time to run both ken on, engine off -and- engine at idle Measuring value function blockmaps on address 01 it would be highly appreciated. Mapping is explained here and those CSV files can be opened with Notepad and pasted to forum like this example.

This generation ECU doesn't support cruise from MFSW.
