CP removal is not enough. You forget the dreaded FeC codes what you cannot get to an unit that has never been in that car. For example MIB1 and MIB2 have different FeCs for map data. So even you would get bluetooth working which has the same FeC in both, you’ll never be able to enable navigation in official way.
Same goes for smartlink or appconnect like VW likes to call it.

agree
so better is unlock unit and make it P&P
CP today is not protection

Yeah, I just had that happen to a caller. He had two 2015 Golfs, one with Nav (which was a parts donor) and one without Nav which is the car he's using. He swapped the units over, had Nav with CP DTCs and sent it to the dealer for CP removal. As expected, his CP was removed but Navigation shows Not Available on-screen :(

He doesn't have the donor car anymore to simply reinstall the 5F unit into and let the dealer reconfigure it - so that's a bummer.

Glad to hear the OP got his sorted.

Hi, Sorry to bring up an old topic.
I am getting the same error as the first post of this topic due to changing the display of my MIB1 unit to a similar one.

I am a complete newbie with VCDS, but not bad with computer stuff.

Don @DV52 sorry to ping you, how difficult is it to use VCDS to clear the error? From reading the above it seems it is not that difficult.
Don @DV52 it would be very kind of you if you can guide me how to do it step by step with VCDS. How should I go to the specific menu to get the first code?
Is this process easier with obd11 tool?

Many thanks for your time.

Following is the scan. I don't have VCDS (this is scanned with OBD2), so I need to drive to a friend's place to use his to fix the issue if it can be fixed by VCDS.

@vahids1639: Hi. I'm responding because you have asked that I do so in your original post. I was waiting to view the information in your auto-scan as per @Uwe request - but I am unable to proceed with your request based on the ELM data that you posted above.

Without intending to be overly partisan about VCDS, I have always found devices that rely on ELM 327 software to be next-to-useless for real diagnostics. Please provide a copy of the VCDS auto-scan report from the vehicle (as @Uwe has asked)

Don
