They are minor error : Satellite radio, car seat, one maybe related to the recent recall regarding to the P switch position and the "Switch for Central Locking - Signal Implausible"

I found this topic : https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthr...ndow-regulator with the same error but not much info.

I'm trying to figure out where is this Switch for Central Locking, from my understanding seems to be in the door latch system, is this statement correct ?

Tonight, i've checked / pushed back some of the electrical connections : Door latch, J386 box, door to car frame, seems better however I still do have this fault (even after a clear). This week-end i'll try to check better the wiring.

    Any though ?

    Thanks
    Ernesst.

^^ here's a cut-down version of how the driver side door module and the central locking unit are wired together. Of course you car may not have a SAFELOCK feature (extra motor) - but I suggest that you pay particular attention to the integrity of the wires, connectors for the switches.

    Don

PS: and in answer to your first question - the central locking system is integrated into the door lock

Thanks DV52 for your answer and the diagram.
My car is US so i believe it's not equipped with a SAFELOCK system.

So far what i've done yesterday improved the situation but not the scan.

as a side note, it looks like all Golfs come out of the factory with the SAFE option, wired and ready to go (they probably manufacture just one version of the door lock). it's not coded out if you didn't buy the car with the OEM alarm system. now, I don't know if the SAFE thing would work without retrofitting the whole alarm.
my Golf came out of the factory with 13 ECUs. now she has 19. and counting

I really doubt that's true of NAR models. They've historically not had the mechanical bits necessary for the SAFE function because that function is not allowed by the USA's FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards). The way I understand it, doors must be able to be opened from the inside no matter what, even with a total electrical failure.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

oops, somehow I always forget this NAR / ROW separation. I was speaking for european cars.

Yep, and the OP is in Texas, so I think we must assume his car is NAR.

PS: Stuff like this is why I'm fairly insistent that participant here has a location in their profile.

Uwe: isn't it odd (well...... I think that's it's odd) that a facility in (almost?) every other place on this fragile blue planet where this feature is touted as enhancing passenger SAFEty - is viewed as quite the opposite in America. Clearly the sage folk @ FMVSS are streets ahead of their counterparts elsewhere - or maybe not

Well, it's an enhancement if it prevents car-jackings, which I believe was the original intent of this feature, but after an accident, if it prevents you from exiting the vehicle, not so much...

The crash signal from the airbag ECU is 'supposed' to unlock all the doors even if they are SAFE locked.
