Hello All!


I have a VW Transporter 2011 with erro code from the All-wheel drive system. I have sent the control module placed in the rear axle for investigation to UK but no problem found. But I am a little confused and need some advice or tips how to proceed with fault finding. The car is converted into an ambulance, it is driveable but need the all-wheeldrive before the winter is coming.

If the AWD module has been checked, you should now check the wiring to it as most modules don't seem to be communicating with it.

You can get the wiring diagrams from erwin and at a guess, I'd start with power, ground and CAN wiring.

OK, I will try. Thoough it is an ambulance most of the wiring is hidden and I have difficulty to lift the car high enough. But I can crawl on the ground perhaps...

Hi did you remove the haldex controller with vehicle on the ground? If so then checking the feed and earth and the CAN at the 8pin plug should be possible. A load test with a bulb for the feeds and earths. Best way to check the CAN is with a scope. Without that then you would have to access the wiring diagram and circuit test from end to end.Your only going to have to start chasing wires under the vehicle if there’s a missing feed earth or CAN at the plug.
This is normally water damage in the controller.
Who tested it for you in the uk?
