All,

my 2018 US Tiguan SE is now road legal in Germany. The Autobahn is a bit frustrating though as there is a speed limiter of 180 km/h --> ENG01775,Top_speed_limitation,180.000, km/h

I believe there is no way to remove this with VCDS, is there any other tool or does someone knows a tuner who can do this? I already contacted a couple but a) the ECU seems to be quit tricky and b) its a US model so some companies here say while they can get into the ECU, they no touching US cars....

I had a dutch company remove the one on my 2013 Tiguan after tuning. Only it was limited to 210km/h and not 180km/h. It took them a couple of tries and it was definitely in the ECU software itself and not in coding or adaptations.
My current one wasnt limited as far as i know (or at least, it steams on to stop at around 250 without issues).

I do not think it's possible to do that with VCDS.

Thanks guys,

I got a response from a German tuner who claims he is able to read/write the nasty Bosch MG1 in the Tiguan since 1 week (took 2 years for him).
He has a tune for the German version of this engine and would be more than happy to get a visit from me and see what he can do.

I will drive to his company in a couple weeks and will let you know what he was able to do, maybe even a nice tune to get this thing moving :D

It is now possible, 3 or 4 tools in the market that are able to read/write MG1

Did it work?
Did anyone get the vmax of 180 km/h removed to drive faster on the German Autobahn?
Who did it? How? And what was the cost?

I got a 2018 2.0TSI Tiguan Allspace SE from the US as well.

Do you really need to drive faster with a SUV?

VCDS is not for this, you need somebody to flash the ECU to take care of the speed limit a "tuner" can do it.

This answer is irrelevant to my question and not at all appreciated

The prior thread covered this topic. The question is which tuner in Germany has done this before.

It is not appropriate to use the Report function because you don't like the answers that long-term members here are giving you, especially when you already understand that VCDS can't help you with this.

Thanks Uwe,
Too bad if they give useless answers just for answers sake.
I'll close my account once I'm done.

You posted no autoscan of your car, so nobody knows exaclty what for a tig you have, but you want a exact answer, you must be joking!
And if you only want to know the name of a tuner, there are more then one in bavaria and possible one near you, so simple call them.
